Q&A: Physiotherapy and Parkinson's [12 - 17 May 2010]

Fiona Lindop, an internationally respected physiotherapist who specialises in Parkinson's and an APPDE Board member, was invited by Parkinson's UK to participate in our first web based discussion forum question and answer (Q&A) session. She has been answering questions on rehabilitation and physiotherapy for people with Parkinson's. Fiona will post answers to questions on the forum at midday on Tuesday 18 May.

The 2009 AGILE Conference - Parkinson's Disease: Current trends and future directions, October 2009

AGILE is the special interest group for members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy working with older people.

Topics included: Recent medical advances; Conductive education and PD; Outcome measures and the Lindop Scale; Falls and PD; Non medical prescribing in PD; Cueing; Compulsive behaviours.

The APPDE have presented two posters in 2008.

  • 2nd International Congress on Gait and Mental Function, Amsterdam
  • Southampton Neurorehabilitation Conference - Making the Evidence Work for your Patients and their Families: after diagnosis, after discharge, what do you tell people about living well with Parkinson's disease and stroke?

The poster, presented in Southampton by APPDE member Fiona Lindop, won the poster prize.
