Physiotherapists, other professionals, people with Parkinson’s and their carers can join the APPDE to help it pursue its mission and fulfil its aims. There are various categories of membership.
A person is eligible for full membership if they live and/or work in any country which is a member of the European Union, geographically part of Europe or which is or becomes a member of the European Parkinson’s Disease Association. At the present time people from the following countries are eligible to join:
Membership categories, 1A., 1B and unit members all have full voting rights.
At all times 60% of the membership must be qualified physiotherapists. People wanting to join as physiotherapists must be fully qualified and registered to work as such in one of the above countries. They must be able to give their registration number as proof of a recognised national physiotherapy qualification.
This category is open to other professions, people with Parkinson's disease and their carers.
This category is normally for physiotherapists with a recognised qualification working in the same department or unit where 4 or more people want to join. Non physiotherapists may also join in this category. However, they should note, that if the result of their joining under this category is that the percentage of physiotherapists in the Association falls below 60%, they will not have a vote until the percentage increases again.
This category is for interested organisations within the geographical area stated above.
This category is for individuals, wherever they live or work, who wish to be kept up to date about the work of the Association.
