Membership

Physiotherapists, other professionals, people with Parkinson’s and their carers can join the APPDE to help it pursue its mission and fulfil its aims. There are various categories of membership.

  1. Full Membership

    A person is eligible for full membership if they live and/or work in any country which is a member of the European Union, geographically part of Europe or which is or becomes a member of the European Parkinson’s Disease Association. At the present time people from the following countries are eligible to join:

    • Czech Republic
    • Denmark
    • Estonia
    • Finland
    • France
    • Germany
    • Greece
    • Hungary
    • Iceland
    • Ireland
    • Israel
    • Italy
    • Liechtenstein
    • Luxembourg
    • The Netherlands
    • Poland
    • Portugal
    • Russia
    • Slovenia
    • Spain
    • Sweden
    • Switzerland
    • Turkey
    • Ukraine
    • United Kingdom.

 

 

Membership categories, 1A., 1B and unit members all have full voting rights

Category 1A

People wanting to join as physiotherapist must be fully qualified and registered to work as such in one of the above countries. They must be able to give their registration number as proof of a recognised national physiotherapy qualification.

Category 1B

This category is open to other professionals, people with Parkinson’s and their carers.

  1. Unit Membership

    This category is normally for physiotherapists with a recognised qualification working in the same department or unit where 4 or more people want to join. Non-physiotherapists may also join in this category.

    Membership categories 1A, 1B and Unit all have full voting rights. The Board of the APPDE is elected by full members at the AGM.

  2. Affiliate Membership

    This category is for interested organisations within the geographical area stated above.

  3. Friend

    The category is for individuals, wherever they live or work, who wish to be kept up to date about the work of the Association.
